Description: Dr. Roseann Schaaf will discuss the results of her ground-breaking randomized controlled trial on the effectiveness of Ayres Sensory Integration Intervention® with children with autism and will describe the clinical reasoning model she developed for the study. The Data-Driven Decision Making Model is a replicable method for applying evidence-based practice methods to clinical practice on a day to day basis. Dr. Schaaf will describe the decision making process and familiarize participants with the key components of clinical reasoning for sensory integration-based intervention. She will also discuss her new book Clinician’s Guide for Implementing Ayres Sensory Integration Intervention®.

Learning Objectives:

About the Speaker: Roseann C. Schaaf is Professor and Chair in the Department of Occupational Therapy, Thomas Jefferson University, School of Health Professions, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and is faculty in the Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Jefferson. Dr. Schaaf is also director of the Advanced Practice Certificates in Neuroscience, Autism, Teaching.
