Sneaky Fine Motor Activity for March: Fill the Pot of Gold
Laminate small gold coins and a pot of gold. Attach small dots of velcro to the backs of the coins and the pot, alternating the type of velcro dot so that you can also stick the coins together, small round velcro pieces work best. Put two coins together, matching the velcro dots. Peel the velcro coins apart in order to stick them to the pot to fill up the leprechaun’s pot of gold. Separating velcro is a great way to target distal finger manipulation skills as well as finger strength. Remember the harder the velcro is pressed together the more strength required. To support shoulder strength use putty to stick the pot to the wall to add a vertical working component.
