Description: This course equips participants with advanced strategies to enhance ideational abilities in children with praxis deficits. It addresses challenges related to generating ideas and plans for action, common in children with sensory integration and praxis deficits, including those with autism spectrum disorder. The novel intervention approach introduced in this course focuses on recognizing and acting on action and object affordances, along with strengthening the ability to navigate representational thought, which underlies ideational praxis. Additionally, the course explores the link between ideation in praxis and executive function skills. Video tape examples and case study presentations will be used to illustrate intervention techniques. The course format, a combination of lecture, videotapes, and small group discussion allows opportunities for  participant’s’ questions and concerns. Register to receive access to both the live presentation on Sept 13th and a recording of the presentation until Oct 14, 2024.
