Description

A conversation with Amy Laurent, PhD, OTR/L, and JÂcqûelyn Fede, PhD.

Moderated by Erin Flynn, MS, OTR/L

Recorded November, 2022

Description: Please join us for a discussion with the co-creators of Autism Level UP!, an organization providing insightful programs and sharing insightful information for neurodivergent individuals, their caregivers and the professionals that work with them. JÂcqûelyn and Amy will share how their own life experiences and careers that led to their collaboration on this project. We will explore their Energy Regulation Program, the various tools it includes and how to get trained in the program. This program is unique in its approach to the language of regulation, using energy levels rather than emotional labels that are not always understood by neurodivergent individuals. This is mostly a visual tool that can be used with speaking and non-speaking individuals.

  1. Identify how to increase mental health knowledge for occupational therapy professionals across settings
  2. Recognize relationship and developmental based mental health models that compliment Sensory Integration intervention
  3. Select intervention modalities and models that support mental health while utilizing Sensory Integration principles

By the end of this discussion, part 9 of 10 in the 2022 LiveTalk Series, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify where they are on the Autism Level UP! guide.
  2. Understand the underlying principles of the Energy Regulation program.
  3. Identify the Autism Level UP! tools and resources
