LiveTalks are hour long audio-only podcasts.

Description: Research has shown that it is important for the occupational therapy practitioner to provide training and education to parents. As the need for treatment via telehealth increases so does the need for occupational therapy practitioners to hone their skills in parent coaching as a way to provide this training and education. In this talk, we will delve a little deeper into the decision processes surrounding taking on the coaching role. Tess Guttadauro will join us for an introductory level discussion on the occupational therapy professional’s role as coach. Using case examples from her Early Intervention clients, Tess will explain her clinical reasoning in determining how to coach each parent in the various scenarios. Researchers have also acknowledged that in early intervention, coaching is a best practice method.
