LiveTalks are hour long audio-only podcasts. This LiveTalk is part of the Treatment Tips and Tricks bundle.

Description: Posture can be a difficult area to treat, and therapists can often find themselves stuck on how to proceed with facilitating postural control. In these cases integrating manual therapies, like myofascial release, with sensory integration-based occupational therapy may help. In this LiveTalk you will learn how to recognize common postural problems, when certain interventions or combined interventions are appropriate, and what the clinical reasoning behind chosen treatments is.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this LiveTalk listeners will be able to:

  1. Identify how poor postural alignment and muscle imbalances impact on vestibular functioning.
  2. List specific interventions for addressing postural difficulties.
  3. Identify two tools you can use to help determine when manual therapy skills are needed to support therapeutic outcomes.
  4. Describe how poor postural alignment and muscle imbalances impact on vestibular functioning.
