LiveTalks are hour long audio-only podcasts. This LiveTalk is part of the Complex Cases: Applying Clinical Reasoning to Challenging Clients bundle. Click to preregister for the 2020 series!

Description: Our first talk will introduce you to the clinical reasoning process we will be using throughout our 2020 Live Talk series. We will start with a case study involving a child who is a sensory seeker and avoider. Nikki will present a case on a child who was a movement avoider and now seeks vestibular input but cannot recognize his saturation point. He has other sensory issues, as well as ASD, that further complicate formulating a treatment plan to address his vestibular system challenges. Join us as we walk through the clinical reasoning process of developing a treatment plan for this complex case.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this LiveTalk listeners will be able to:

  1. Determine what to prioritize in the treatment plan with a sensory seeker and avoider.
  2. Identify several alternatives for treatment approaches for the sensory seeker.
  3. Identify challenges to attainment of functional goals with this complex case.
